ABOUT

Los Angeles jazz vocalist, writer and blogger, Claudia Alexander, is a Los Angeles Music Awards Nominee (Best Jazz Artist) and alumna of the USC Thornton Jazz Studies and USC Dornsife Master of Professional Writing programs. The L.A. native has performed internationally and at various Los Angeles festivals and venues, including: The World Stage, Lunaria, Monsoon Café, The City of Inglewood Market Street Festival of the Arts, The Hollywood Park Jazz Festival, and The InterContinental Hotel.

As founder and editor of the CTCA initiative and blog, Alexander continues her research in the areas of jazz, faith, spirituality, artist wellness and artist empowerment, creating content in support of artists and creatives—and the Jazz community at-large.

Her latest single, “Q&A” explores the complexities of faith against a Chet Baker inspired canvas of straight-ahead, West coast jazz, featuring Los Angeles artists: Dominic Thiroux (bass), Amy Rowe (piano), Jun Iida (trumpet) and Kevin van den Elzen (drums).

Alexander's 2018 single, “Anything”, draws upon scriptural narrative, addressing doubt in the face of faith, and features Earl Johnson, Jr. (piano), Del Atkins (bass) and Gordon Peeke (drums).
